ATLAS - ELECTROSTATIC POWDER COATING SYSTEM

This revolutionary process of treating ferrous metals in order to prevent rusting or (oxidization) is widely used in the motor industry. This tried and tested method is used by TOYOTA, MERCEDES BENZ and BMW etc. and provides practically life time protection. This process uses a heated alkaline solution to remove all surface oils and smut, which all metals contain when arriving at the factory. This is followed by rinsing in H2O. This process uses an acid solution to etch and prepare the metal surface for phosphating which is again followed by rinsing In H2O. The product is then submersed in heated phosphoric tanks to apply phosphate crystals to the steel surface to seal it. The steel is then rinsed again. The steel is then demineralised and submerged in an electro statically charged paint dipping tank and coated with ultra florate. The steel is then baked at high temperature and is now ready for powder coating, Automotive Manufacturing and Coatings are truly experts in this field. Atlas - ELECTROSTATIC POWDER COATING SYSTEM
The powder coating process at Atlas is not unique in itself, however the difference is in the application thereof. Atlas is an accredited (International Standards Organization ) ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 company. This means that all aspects of the manufacturing and coating processes at the factory are subject to and comply with stringent quality and environmental controls.

These control management systems, are audited by an independent German certification company Kiwa Zertifizierung GmbH, every six months. Part of these controls are regular concentrated salt spray tests carried out by an independent laboratory.

THE POWDER COATING PROCESS
After the gates have passed through E- Coating system, it is then sent to the powder coating plant. Here the gate now receives the colour of your choice. The powder is manufactured by Plascon Paints and is available in many colours. At RHINO DOOR we have 5 standard colours, which are white, bronze, natural aluminium, antique gold and antique silver. Each individual piece of the gate is now jigged separately and sent to the spray booth. The steel is now negatively charged and is sprayed with positively charged powder which adheres to the metal.
 

The painted components are now placed into an oven where they are baked for 30 minutes. Once baked, they are left to cure for 24 hours.  Once cured the components are ready for assembly and installation at your home or business.
